For Boutique 73 founder and women’s fashion lover Laura Kesteven, owning her own shop has always been part of the ‘master plan’. From a young age she trailed the car-boot sales and markets together with her father – always on the hunt for a piece of treasure amongst the many reproductions.
It wasn’t until she was 18 that her business-sense really came to light as she used online auction-sites to sell her own clothes, shoes and accessories – often with regular customers racking up the bids to get their hands on her unique style. Always one with an eye for a trend, her creativity meant that women’s fashion was a perfect method to showcase her own ideas.
Her online-retailing bloomed as Laura scoured markets and overseas retailers searching for women’s clothing and accessories that would be perfect for her customers. Together with her eye for fashion and desirable style, Laura bought must-have pieces that appealed to women of all ages from across the country.
Sensing a gap in the market for vintage, one-off pieces Laura dreamed of creating a store that would house her favourite trends, previously loved clothing and gems that she had spotted on her travels. Her passion, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit meant her dream came true with the opening of Boutique 73 in 2009.
Located in the Victorian railway town of Wolverton, Boutique 73 focuses on second-hand and new clothing resulting in a unique store which makes people forget they’re in Wolverton and transports them to the heart of London. Laura and Boutique 73’s success has gone from strength-to-strength, with regular deliveries of women’s and men’s fashion being sold out from the rails the same day!
Now Boutique 73 is the hidden gem of Wolverton, housing the must-have shabby-chic and vintage pieces that Laura is so famed for finding. Offering an exciting array of individual styles and fashionable collections at reasonable prices – the store always has something eye-catching, whether its women’s fashion, men’s clothing or even fashion for children. And for those looking for gifts or just something to treat themselves Boutique 73 holds a fantastic range of home items, jewellery and accessories.
Working hard to deliver great style and unique fashion, Laura is looking forward to growing the business further by establishing Boutique 73 as a leading name in women’s clothing. With the launch of Boutique73.com and items available via ASOS marketplace.com, Laura is hoping to bring her original style and personally-selected products to customers all over the world, through international delivery. And for those just wanting to pop in, the original Wolverton boutique ensures that ultimate vintage looks and pretty home pieces are available to all.
